Labor day has come and gone, so now I can openly post about Autumn without feeling guilty! The kids are back in school and the temperature seems to be cooling ever so slightly so its time to pull out the Fall decor and start preparing for the harvest ahead.
Now more than ever it is important we take advantage of the things we already have and breathe new life into them by getting creative. Why not have some fun by creating something you can be proud of?
For this project I purchased a cheap wreath frame from the craft strore and a bag of mixed Autumn ‘swag’ that I separated and worked into the wreath. I purchased wire branches from Michael’s and used an owl paper craft from last Christmas to sit in the center of the wreath.
For the centerpiece I used the remnants of the autumn mix, combined with a bag of cinnamon scented pine cones and placed in a spare planter. If you’re interested in doing something similar, you can get the pine cones from your local craft store or simply collect some from the yard. I also added a raffia pumpkin and scented with my favorite cinnamon extract from Sweet Water Soaps.
If this inspires you to start a new project be sure to share images with us!
Be resourceful, and happy decorating!
