Sufjan Stevens is at it again with another 5 disc Christmas album for us to lush over. Last year I posted about his first venture into holiday music, which over the years has become a Christmas staple of mine.  This November he released Silver & Gold, a continuation of his previous 5 disc effort which picks up with the owl adorned volume titled ‘Gloria’. Like the previous release, this new set is packed to the brim with goodies like stickers, temporary tattoos, a paper ornament, photos, posters, lyrics & chords, and even graphic designs by the man himself. I have linked to one of my favorite tracks off the new set, ‘Carol of St. Benjamin The Bearded One’ below.

I hope you enjoy!

It has been a long-standing tradition that we put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. That tradition continues today, and nothing would be more perfect for this week’s music break than ‘Put the Lights on the Tree’ by Sufjan Stevens. Rather than getting lost in the mess that is ‘Black Friday’, I will opt to stay inside, listen to Christmas music, and pull all my holiday decorations out of storage. Joy!

This original song is featured on an amazing 5 disc Christmas CD that even comes with owl stickers. If interested in picking it up, click here.

Enjoy your tree trimming!

You can find this song along with many other great Christmas classics on my Spotify Christmas Playlist.
