I personally think this is a wonderful idea, but the fee proposed is getting mixed reactions from the growers and ill-informed consumers. The marketing blitz will encourage Americans to purchase fresh trees from their local growers, subsequently supporting their local economy and keeping money from the manufacturers that outsource artificial tree production overseas. Who knows, you my very well hear or see some fresh cut Christmas ads next holiday season.
