I always have my eyes open for owls, it’s a habit. This year’s trip to Disney World was no different and I found plenty of owls on my adventure through the Magic Kingdom and wanted to share a few.
I spotted the image in the header at a shop selling the popular tradable figures called ‘Vinylmation’. Released in sets, these collectible figurines are designed by various artists and sold in mystery boxes to increase the odds of you getting a duplicate and wanting to trade, similar to how you can trade pins with cast members at the Disney theme parks. Unfortunately the owl above by Lisa Badeen was featured in the first set of the ‘Cutesters’ line and can only be found by shopping second-hand online. Trust me, I tried! More information on Cutesters #1 can be found here.
While on It’s A Small World I noticed plenty of animatronic owls, but due to the motion of the ride the only good picture I was able to snap was of the kite above featured in the Chinese section of the popular boat ride.
I also never noticed this before, but a lot of the architecture in Snow White features owls carved into wood beams, chairs, tables etc. Check out an example above which was taken from Snow White’s Scary Adventures in Fantasyland.
Honorable mention goes to Owl, from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
‘See you real soon!’
