I had some down time thanks to the Labor Day holiday so I thought I would get into the kitchen and do a warm up for the long baking season ahead. Check out these original ‘pumpkin patch brownies’ I made that didn’t take very long at all. They are so easy to prepare and make for a great treat that the kids can help with, or if you’re looking for a cheap dessert idea for a Halloween or Autumn party.
To save time and money; prepare store bought brownie mix and pour into black baking cups. While that bakes at 350° for 4o minutes, use food dye to lightly color cream cheese icing and coconut to look like grass . For the coconut, I would recommend coloring with ziplock bags and shaking for even coverage. Bake the coconut on a cookie sheet for 5-15 minutes until crisp. Once cooled, frost and top with a Brach’s mellowcreme pumpkin.
You could easily do a pan of these instead, or just use cake mix for traditional cupcakes.
Have fun with the decorations and get creative!
