How cute is that!? Seriously! I love Annalee dolls and saw some great new fall and Halloween designs while out shopping this last weekend that I wanted to share. You may have seen in a previous post that I picked up an Annalee pumpkin candy holder during my trip to the Yankee Candle Flagship Store in Williamsburg, Va. Though the original designer passed away in 2002, the company has done a great job of maintaing the original charm Annalee Thorndike managed to instill in her handmade creations.
I was a little bummed to read that in 2001 their manufacturing was outsourced overseas, closing their picturesque “factory in the woods” in New Hampshire. It seems the quality of material has dropped over the last few years, but I feel that is passed onto the consumer by offering the dolls at more reasonable prices. After all, they go for thousands at auction. You can find these guys at a variety of novelty or Christmas shops as well as online. They offer designs from years past on their website, and show off whats new for this season including the 2011 Christmas line. They sell more than just dolls, so if these kitschy creatures appeal to you, be sure to check out their site.
