Today I took a day trip to the Yankee Candle Flagship store in Williamsburg, Virginia. The air quality was terrible due to the Great Dismal Swamp being on fire, but the smell quickly went away as soon as I stepped inside the store. The flagship was very busy with tourists visiting Colonial Williamsburg on their Summer vacations, but it was well worth the drive (..even after fighting for a parking spot). I picked up an Annalee plush pumpkin and a ceramic pumpkin tealight holder that I found in their Halloween themed room that was decked out with spooky decor and lighting. Their store decorator did a wonderful job with the seasonal rooms, the Halloween atmosphere was great. If you’ve ever been to this store you know they have a huge Christmas themed section complete with the occasional snow shower, toy trains running from room to room, and even the big man himself. The kids can visit Santa in his work shop and they even have two German themed rooms dedicated to Old World decor and traditional glass ornaments. This place is truly magical, and I recommend you take your family if you’re ever in the area.
