I had so much fun this weekend decorating my tree and draping my apartment with Christmas decor. As usual, it tends to feature owls and this year I decided to combine all of the owl ornaments I have in to one place and created a woodland owl themed Christmas tree. My roommate and I rent a small condo in the suburbs of Richmond, so space for a full-sized tree is limited. Despite the tight quarters, I was determined to get a good sized live tree and ended up finding an 8 ft balsam fir that was perfect for the space I had available. I cut off about 2 inches from the stem to allow for water absorption, placed in the stand, then wrapped with clear mini-lights and white decorative pearl lights. For the glass bulb ornaments I used a combination or greens, red, beige, white, and clear. I placed pinecones in various spots throughout the tree and decorated with gold and berry spray. Finally, I added the owl tree topper and draped with curled wire framed ribbon.
I also made the centerpiece below using a tall white lattice basket I already had and leftover pine branches. I finished it with small red frosted bulbs and adorned with a woodland owl.
I love this time of year!
